Decorative Easter glass cover.

Created3/24/2022

I have prepared for you instructions for a simple cover for a mason jar with cats, golden rain or willow twigs decorated with Easter eggs. Why did we use a mason jar? Wide branches are harder to fit into a classic vase and we also love recycling.

Using a recycled mason jar and 0.30m of Easter and plain cotton, sewing supplies and a button, it's easy to create an original packaging. There are several ideas for using leftover fabrics, for example, you can make handkerchiefs or tablecloths. You can find a lot of other ideas and inspiration under the instructions.

We will need:

0.30 m of Easter cotton

0.30 m of plain cotton

0.30 m of adhesive reinforcement

string, sewing thread , needles , pins and a button

Sewing procedure:

1. Measure the circumference of the glass + add 5 cm for folding. We chose the height of the packaging to be 30 cm .

2. We cut out the measured rectangle from Easter and plain cotton . We stick the Easter cotton on the reverse side with glue .

3. Place the fabrics face to face . Insert a string into the side, which will form a loop for the button. Sew the two fabrics together for 0.5 cm and leave a small opening in the bottom edge for turning .

4. Cut the corners , turn the packaging inside out through the hole left and remove the edges . We sew the cover for the hem in the region.

5. Iron and measure the location of the button that we will sew .

We have the packaging ready. Now is the time to go for a walk, pluck branches and welcome spring with a new handmade decoration. This variant can easily be modified for larger glasses or other dimensions. Just adjust the length and width of the fabric and the tunnel according to the size of the glass. The fabric can also be combined with other motifs and patterns to create different variations on this simple wrap.

Another use of the wrap on the glass

You must have liked our simple instructions for making a cover for a mason jar with cats, golden rain or willow twigs decorated with Easter eggs. This time we bring you other variants of this product which are very similar to this product but which are of a different pattern and color. You can use this option not only for Easter, but also for everyday use.

Another option is different patterns on fabrics. For example, Christmas socks for gifts can use different Christmas patterns such as reindeer, snowflakes, stars or hemlocks to create a Christmas atmosphere. Different patterns can be used on shirts for different purposes, such as floral, geometric or striped patterns for different occasions and situations.

Another possibility is different types of substances. You can use cotton, flannel, canvas or any other fabric depending on the effect you want to achieve. Flannel wraps are ideal for winter as they are warmer, while cotton wraps are suitable for summer as they are breathable.

Variants of this product can be used as an original gift or for personal use. They are ideal for decorating the interior or as a practical aid when storing food. Packaging for canning jars is also environmentally friendly and allows for recycling.
