What kind of fabric is softshell?

It is among the most popular functional materials that protect us from the ugly and dry autumn weather, so it doesn't even matter that we can't command the wind and rain.

The winter softshell consists of 3 layers, which include thermoactive material, the reverse side of pleasantly warm insulating fleece and the upper waterproof material.

Softshell with fleece is a pleasant material even on the bare body, it does not tend to pull out in stressed areas, it is smooth on the front side and on the reverse side it has a pleasant short-cut fleece that warms and prevents the body from freezing.

Parameters are an important part of every summer and winter softshell, and ours is no different:

How to care for a softshell?

Caring for a softshell has its own rules, and if we follow them, the fabric will last longer and retain its properties.

It is ideal to wash the softshell by hand, but even a washing machine at low speed will not harm the softshell. When washing, we recommend using a special washing powder intended for outdoor clothing, which is gentler on the fabric than conventional washing powder and gel. The washing temperature is ideal at 30°C.

We do not recommend putting clothes made of softshell in the dryer. Let it air dry outside, but try to avoid direct sunlight.

We do not recommend contact of the iron with the softshell, but it is possible to iron it over a cotton fabric.

What to sew from a softshell?

Thanks to its parameters and three layers, winter softshell is a popular outdoor fabric for jackets and vests, which can withstand wind and rain, is suitable for outdoor activities, trips to the forest, but also as a sporty and elegant extended parka, which you only need to wear with jeans , sneakers and you can go shopping in town.

Softshell is not only for jackets and vests, but is also a suitable material for warmer hiking pants, which are light and windproof. For trousers, it is better to use softshell with elastane, which allows free and more comfortable movement.

At first glance, it may seem that softshell is suitable mainly for outerwear, but this is not the case. A softshell cap that covers the ears cannot replace any classic cap. Do you love skiing? Then reach for the softshell gloves and you won't have frozen fingers anymore.
