How to sew a long sleeve t-shirt:

  1. Place the cut on the fabric and add 0.75 cm for the seams . Add 3 cm on the bottom edge of the sleeves and T-shirt . Then cut out the outlined parts.

  2. Place the front and back pieces facing each other. Pin an elastic band to the shoulder straps before sewing. Stretch it slightly and sew it together with the shoulder strap with an elastic stitch .

  3. Place the front and back pieces on top of each other, again facing each other, and sew the side seams with a stretch stitch .

  4. Sew the sleeve seam, then sew the sleeve into the armhole. Make sure the marks on the sleeve and armhole match exactly. Sew again with an elastic stitch.

  5. Sew the cut strip of fabric and fold it in half . Then sew it into the neckline of the T-shirt. Pin on the cheek of the t-shirt, stretch slightly and sew with an elastic stitch . Finally, stitch from the facing side .

  6. Bend the lower edges of the sleeves and the length of the T-shirt 3 cm inwards and sew with a flexible stitch .

Tips and Tricks:

  • Because you are working with a flexible material, the edges of the knit do not fray , so it is not necessary to clean them with an overlock.

  • If you don't have an overlock, a flexible stitch on a classic sewing machine will do.

  • Use sharp scissors and change the needles to stretch ones in the machine to avoid damaging the knit.

And that's it! A simple but stylish piece is born. Now all that's left is to choose your favorite color and start sewing!
