Does Tencel tell you something? If not, no problem. Let's introduce this new material a little together.

Tencel is a natural material made from cellulose fibers obtained from eucalyptus wood.

What is eucalyptus and how does eucalyptus become fiber?

Eucalyptus is a tree native to Australia, where it forms the majority of the green population. In addition to Australia, eucalyptus can also be found in Indonesia, Tasmania and other subtropical regions around the world. Eucalyptus processing is fully ecological without the use of any chemicals and toxic additives to pollute nature.

The bark must first be removed from eucalyptus wood. After removing the bark, the wood is chopped into small pieces, which are gradually digested into cellulose using gentle solvents. The resulting cellulose mass is then pushed through a sieve into lukewarm water, where it is mechanically stretched and stripped of all unwanted chemicals. The cellulose is stretched mechanically through rollers to the required thickness and then it is wound on coils.

Tencel and its properties?

Thanks to its structure with the arrangement of the fibers, Tencel gains unique properties that have up to 50% more water absorption capacity than the classic cotton fiber. Tencel is a very pleasant fiber, which at first touch resembles soft velvet or the skin of the body. Its strength is comparable to chemically processed polyester, and on summer days it cools us like natural linen, or on the contrary, it warms us like real sheep's wool.

Tencel is one of the flowing materials that are light, airy and unique with their soft silky appearance.

How to care for Tencel ?

Tencel is one of the very low-maintenance materials that can be washed without special detergents. If you are not one of those who like ironing, Tencel clothes will be just right for you. Clothes made from this natural cellulose material do not even need to be ironed, and all you have to do is hang them up and let them dry.
