THE BIG SERIES OF FASHION STYLES: PREPPY

Created3/13/2015

Preppy is not only a fashion style, but also a way of life, which is currently enjoying unprecedented popularity.

Preppy originated on the northeast coast of the USA and its main and first icons are Jackie and John Kennedy. And how can this style be characterized? If for someone fashion has become a way to express rebellion, perhaps it is better not to rebel and thus become exceptional.

Preppy, loosely translated as "conservative", was the style of dressing students of elite American schools, but this phenomenon has spread all over the world, and today "preppy" are no longer just graduates of prestigious schools, but anyone who adopts this style as their own.

The preppy look could be described as a university uniform way of dressing combining classic pieces with casual wear and today its most popular form is retro. Brands such as Gant or designers such as Ralph Lauren are classic preppy followers.

The rules that should be followed to match the preppy taste are simple:

1) Underwear must never be visible! (We wear belts, ties,...)

2) Distinctive inscriptions on t-shirts, trousers, sweatshirts are absolutely out!

3) Everyone regardless of age or gender must have a blue jacket, a supply of white shirts and leather loafers!

4) Vintage clothes, wool sweaters , cotton pants are chic!

5) Pink, green, light yellow and dark blue are the new black, you can never go wrong with them.
