Velvet is woven and knitted. Knitted velvet is softer and more pliable than woven velvet. Velvet is treated like combed fabrics, individual parts of velvet are cut along the grain. Zippers are sewn by hand on velvet and we prefer to avoid buttonholes, replacing them with hooks or hidden fasteners.
