We take peace

We've all certainly experienced flipping through a magazine with clothing with a size written on it, e.g. for a blouse, skirt, or jacket. However, we don't really know what size we are and how to measure ourselves. We will repeat it in today's article.

Proportional distribution of the figure and its characteristics:

The male and female figures have different proportions already at first glance.

Men have stronger and longer bones, a wider chest and a lower torso narrower than the shoulders. Compared to women, their muscles are stronger and more noticeable on the surface of the body. Compared to the male figure, the female figure has weaker, shorter bones, which are not so noticeable on the surface of the body. Our pelvis and lower torso are larger than our shoulders and our muscles are weaker.

Now it seems that we are completely different, but if we look at it in percentage terms, there is not that much difference between us.

Female figure: in an asymmetrical woman, the percentage of the body is made up of:

character height - 100%

head height – 14%

back length – 23.5%

seat depth – 16.5%

seat depth up to half of the knee - 18%

from the middle of the knee to the ground - 28%

The male asymmetrical figure is made up of:

character height - 100%

head height – 14%

back length – 24.5%

seat depth – 14.5%

distance from the depth of the seat to the middle of the knee - 19%

from the ground to the outstretched fingers of the arm - 28%

What body dimensions do we have and their distribution:

To determine the size of clothing, we must always measure ourselves thoroughly in advance and compare the measured values with the size chart. It is important to approach the measurement conscientiously and not take any centimeters off. If we do, it will immediately show when we try on clothes that won't fit. In order to get a good measurement, the figure should be lightly dressed with a natural attitude, straighten up unnecessarily and, above all, not stand in front of the mirror. The measured should stand in the space so that we have enough space to walk around. When measuring an asymmetrical person, it is important to measure both halves of the body.

For the measurement itself, you need: a table for writing down the dimensions, a tape measure, a triangle ruler, a measuring Friday (clothing)

How to take measurements:

Before the actual measurement, it is necessary to tie or pin the string around your waist.

We divide the basic dimensions into two groups: perimeter and length

  1. OH - chest girth - we measure across the widest part of the breast from back to front and measure to the sternum
  2. OP - waist circumference - we measure at the tissue point
  3. OS - circumference of the seat - we measure over the most prominent part of the buttocks and measure on the right hip in front
  4. PHP - front breast depth - we measure from the neck to the tip of the breast
  5. PDP - front length to the waist - we measure from the neck over the top of the breast to the lower edge of the fabric
  6. ŠR - shoulder width - from the base of the neck to the back of the shoulder at the shoulder joint (where the sleeve is attached)
  7. DR - sleeve length - from the shoulder joint through the slightly bent arm, through the elbow to the wrist
  8. Arm circumference - arm circumference - measured at the widest point of the arm
  9. DZ - back length - we measure from the 7th cervical vertebra along the spine to the tissue tied at the waist
  10. OK - neck circumference - we measure around the neck above the 7th cervical vertebra
  11. VP - body height - we measure the upright body from the top of the head to the ground
  12. DK - the length of the trousers - we measure from the fabric in the waist along the side seam to the top of the heel of the shoes
  13. OSt. - thigh circumference - we measure in the widest part of the thigh
  14. VK - knee height - we measure from the knee socket to the ground
  15. ŠZ - width of the back - we measure from one armpit to the other across the shoulder blades

  16. HS - sitting depth - the measured figure must sit upright on a hard surface - a table. We measure from the fabric at the waist to the side seam to the pad
